Melvin Bowman Landes, (age 96) on July 29, 2004, of Fairfax County, Va. Beloved husband of the late, Ava Strawderman Landes. Loving father of: Roberta Landes Roberts and Paula Landes Givens. Also survived by one brother, Olen Landes, one grandchild, Gilbert Francis Roberts Jr. and one great-grandchild, Kathryn Elizabeth Roberts.

Friends may call at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria, on Wednesday, August 4, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at Groveton Baptist Church, Alexandria. Interment will follow at National Memorial Park, Falls Church. Donations may be made to a Charity of your choice.
